Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out the relationship between social support with pre-retirement anxiety. Subjects in this study were civil servants at Surakarta City Hall with criteria men and women aged 57 years, marital status married, and having children. The sampling technique in this study uses purposive sampling. This study uses a quantitative approach. The data collection tool used in this study is the scale of social support and anxiety scale pre-retirement. Data analysis using Spearman product moment correlation technique. The results showed that the correlation coefficient (rxy) = -0.461 with (sig.) = 0,000 (p <0.01) which means that there is a very significant negative relationship between social support and anxiety pre- retirement. Negative relationships in this study indicate that the higher social support received, the lower anxiety pre-retirement. On the contrary, the more social support is received, the higher the anxiety pre-retirement. Effective contribution to social support for anxiety pre-retirement of 21%.
