Abstract

The purpose of this research is to improve the questioning skills and learning outcomes of fourth grade students of SD Negeri 1 Krisak. This research is a Classroom Action Research. The subject of this research is the students of class IV and the teacher of class IV. Data collection techniques carried out with test, observation, interview and documentation. The researcher applies triangulation source and method in order to make the data valid. The qualitative data analysis techniques use interactive models namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing/verivication. While the quantitative data was analyzed descriptively. The results showed as follow: (1) The average of students questioning skill in the pre cycle 36,7. In the first cycle of the first meeting 47; at the second meeting 61. Then the first cycle of the first meeting reached 74,8; and increased at the second meeting to 80,5. Completeness of students questioning skills in the pre cycle 16,6%. In the first cycle of the first meeting 30% (less skilled); second meeting 46,6% (quite skilled). In cycle II the first meeting is 63,3% (skilled); and increased at the second meeting reached 80% (very skilled). (2) Students learning outcomes also experienced an increase in the pre cycle learning completeness level only reached 40% or 12 students, then in cycle I reached 18 students or 60% and increased in cycle II reached 25 students or 83,3%. This research concludes that the implementation of guided discovery learning model can improve the skill of questioning class IV SD Negeri 1 Krisak.
