Abstract

Observation results at Batik Vocational High School 1 of Surakarta in Computer and Network Engineering expertise programs, it is known that the teaching and learning process still uses conventional methods and uses presentation slide media, but students are still not concentrated and less interested in learning. This can be seen from the activities of students who talk to their friends and even sleep while learning is taking place. The purpose of this research is (1) create a learning media for multimedia- based Local Area Network material for 10th grade students of Computer and Network Engineering in Batik Vocational High School 1 of Surakarta, (2) find out the feasibility of a learning media for multimedia-based Local Area Network material for 10th grade students of Computer and Network Engineering in Batik Vocational High School 1 of Surakarta. This type of research uses Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model, that is analyze, design, development, implementation and evaluation. Data analysis was performed using quantitative descriptive analysis techniques. The test results of media experts get an average score of 2.45 and a percentage of 63.04%, so that it is in a decent category. Tests for material experts get an average score of 3.54 and a percentage of 88.39%, so that it is in a very decent category. While the test results of students get an average score of 3.10 and a percentage of 78.26%, so that it is in a decent category. It can be concluded that multimedia-based learning media on Computer and Basic Network subjects in Batik Vocational High School 1 of Surakarta are in a decent category and can support student learning activities.
