Abstract

Background: Quality of life is a subjective state that a person feels. Someone with hypertension can affect their quality of life. Hypertension is the most common disease and is the number 1 non-communicable disease in Surakarta. Purpose: This study aims to find out a clear picture of the quality of life of patients with hypertension in the working area of a health center. Research Method: This type of research is a quantitative study with descriptive, sampling using cross sectional approach from the entire population of hypertensive patients in the working area of Pajang Surakarta Puskesmas. There were 1,391 people and 96 of them were taken as samples from this study. Collecting data from this study using Short Form (SF-12) questionnaire contains 12 questions with data analysis techniques using univariate. Conclusion: the results of the analysis of this study indicate that the quality of life of hypertensive patients in the working area of Pajang Surakarta Health Center is more than 70% with a good quality of life. Respondents with male gender have a good quality of life compared to women. Respondents aged 46-65 years have a better quality of life.
