Abstract

Religiosity is a person's spiritual expression related to the system of beliefs, values, and applicable law. The cultivation of religious values from an early age is very necessary in order to form moral and moral character, so that one can 2 adapt as a wise person in dealing with the times. Therefore the role of parents becomes very important as an ideal example in the view of children, behavior, and manners will be imitated. But sometimes parents have not been able to fully carry out the role of a guiding and exemplary figure in the formation of a child's personality. Educational background, type of work, and also the availability of time to accompany children is still a serious obstacle in this regard. Based on the above background, the problem in this reasoning is how the role of parents in developing religiosity of adolescents of junior high school in Sidoharjo subdistrict, Sragen regency in 2016 - 2017. This research was conducted with the aim of describing various roles of parents in developing religiosity children who later benefit positively and add insight to readers. In addition, this research can also be considered for parents to create a conducive situation in the family. This type of research is field research, using a qualitative approach that uses questionnaires, observation, and documentation as a method of collecting data. Data analysis is presented with inductive qualitative descriptive which uses a description of the phenomena of the respondents to be compiled into a data source so that the results of the data are valid. Based on the data analysis of the results of the study concluded that the role of parents who can develop religiosity of adolescents of junior high school is to send their children to Islamic-based schools, mentoring and directing children's behavior, and the application of Islamic values in the family. Forms of development of religiosity in adolescents of junior high school age can be seen from the intensity of following religious studies and participation in religious activities or organizations. The profession or work of parents can have an effect on their role in developing children's religiosity, namely positive impacts (can monitor children's activities and behavior) and negative impacts (lack of time to monitor children's activities and behavior).
