Abstract

Movies always relatet to the audience and the language or ideology conveyed by later filmmakers there will be a reception process, when the viewers sees amd listens to the movie in this case the thief positioned as a producer not only as a media consumer who interpret the meaning based on their cultural background and experience so that one media text will be creates many meanings. Media text gets meaning only on when reception (reception), they are read, seen and heard. In other words the audience is seen as a producer of meaning and not just a consumer of media content. Movie viewers will interpret the text within media according to the cultural background and subjective experience they experience in life. So one media texts will generate a lot of meaning in a similar text as well as when we see indie movies.research method uses analytical qualitative methods. Data collection techniques within-depth interviews and selecting informants with purposive sampling techniques.The process of data analysis in this 2 study uses the coding stages. The results of the research show that the reception of journalistic ethics in the film Spotlight on this research is done through the decoding-encoding model. The meaning of the message is encoded by the sender of the message in this case in the film Spotlight on the journalistic ethics of journalists to uncover the case sexual abuse by a priest who is a sensitive issue that makes this case difficult to uncover. And decoded by the recipient in this case is the Spotlight movie viewer that the journalist in the movie This spotlight has performed tasks in accordance with the existing journalistic ethics although sometimes slightly off the mark its implementation and the audience position it in opposition, dominant hegemony and negotiation. Ethics in journalism Spotlight films from the audience reception positioned negotiations on the ethics conducted by the investigation team and also the ways the investigation team obtained accurate information. While the procedures undertaken by the investigation team in ethics journalism on the Spotlight film is positioned dominant hegemony.
