Abstract

Coping stress is a variety of ways that each individual uses in overcoming various pressures or demands he faces. This study aims to determine the differences in stress coping in practicum students in terms of gender, to know the differences in the forms of PFC and EFC coping stress and the level of stress coping form of practicant students. Informants in this study amounted to 180 students of the Psychology Faculty who consisted of 80 women and 80 men, with criteria of students of the Faculty of Psychology and took a minimum of 2 (two) MKP. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling and quote sampling. Data collection method uses the Stress Coping Scale. Data analysis is used with independent sample t-test. Based on the results of data analysis obtained the results of coping stress significance is 0.535 (p> 0.05) then the Problem Focused Coping (PFC) coping stress results are 0.940 (p> 0.05) and the Emotional Focused Coping (EFC) coping stress results are 0.435 (p > 0.05). The results above indicate that there is no difference in stress coping in practicing students in terms of gender. Both men and women practice using EFC in solving their problems.
