Abstract

Teenagers comes from the word adolencese which has a meaning to grow and develop. The term has a broad meaning that includes emotional, mental and physical maturity that has an age range of 11 to 20 years. Teenagers is a phase of identity crisis, so the teenagers try to bring the existence of self to get recognition on the environment including for tattooing. As for the question of research is what encouraged teens to tattooed either internally or externally and what are the effects. The method used in this research is qualitative based on phenomenology by collecting data based on interview. Then for the criteria of informants as many as 10 people who are tattooed when teenage. The results show that motivation tattooed teen is strongly influenced by the interest of the family and peers. Then the impact felt after tattooed that tend to close them self by the environment, emerging a sense of concern for the continuing education or looking for work, but on the other side make more confidence .
