Abstract

This study has four purpose. First, it describes the implicature forms, the second explains the meaning of the implicature, the third explains the implicit strategy of the commissive speech acts of West Java governor candidates in the 2018 Regional Election discourse, and the fourth implication in high school Indonesian learning in class X curriculum 2013. This study uses qualitative descriptive method. The data collection technique of this research uses the technique of reading and note based on the first public debate video transcript from youtube. The data analysis technique used in this study is extensional method. The results of this study are 4 things. (1) found the form of commissive speech acts of the Governor's candidate pair, namely promises, offers and oaths. (2) the meaning of the implication of the commissive speech acts of each candidate pair is different and diverse (3) the strategy of speaking the candidate pairs of Governor is direct and indirect speech. (4) the implications of this study on Indonesian learning class X KD 3.12. The findings of this study indicate that commissive speech acts which mean promises and offers have high dominance in the speech of the candidate pairs of Governor of West Java. The purpose of the implicature obtained varies and each paslon is different. Paslon's speech strategy is dominated by direct speech.
