Abstract

Ledowo Indaharto/A510140154; STRENGTHENING THE CHARACTER OF COOPERATION THROUGH EXPERIMENTAL ACTIVITIES AT THE FIRST GRADE IN MI MUHAMMADIYAH SPECIAL PROGRAM KARTASURA 2018. Thesis, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta. May, 2018. The purpose of this study to describe about; 1) strengthening the character of cooperation; 2) problems faced by schools in strengthening the character of cooperation; 3) and what solutions will be done by schools in strengthening the character of cooperation. The type of research is qualitative research with qualitative descriptive method. The research design is a case study for data collection through interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis techniques use Miles and Hubberman models through data reduction, data description presentation, and conclusion drawing. The validity test of data use triangulation technique and source. The research findings are; 1) the efforts undertaken by the school (the committee) and the teacher of the elective class of instructional strategies, the selection of experimental themes, good and coherent learning planning, assessment, and evaluation; 2) the problems faced by schools and teachers such as teachers are not ready to implement learning (limited time), communication with parents and school (committee), controlling students (rowdy, disturbing their peers, and unfocused), failure of experiments, and infrastructure; 3) solutions conducted by schools (committees) and teachers such as comparative study in other schools, learning together with teachers (2 weeks), teachers make social media group (parents), press with the school, control learners ( choose learning methods, make arrangements with learners in the form of punishment), always provide good spirit, motivation and school provide a boost of the cost of consumables for the experiment.
