Abstract

The aims of this research is to find out the relationship between emotional intelligence, adversityquotient and self-independence. The hypothesis that can be inferred are: Relationship between Emotional intelligence, adversity quotient and self-independence is exist, There is a relationship between emotional intelligence and self-independence, There is a relationship between adversity quotient and self-independence. The method of this research is quantitative research. The sampling technique that used is purposive sampling. The population that used by the researcher is about 550 leaved-students from Sumatra. The sample are most of leaved-students who comes from Palembang, Riau, Lampung, Bengkulu in total of 192 students. The technique of collecting data are using self Independence scale, Emotional Intelligence scale and Adversity Quotient scale. The analysis of data used doubled regression. The results of the data analysis in this research are: r=0,576,sig = 0.000p 0.01, it means that there is a significant relationship between emotional intelligence and adversity quotient variable to self-independence variable, rxy= 0,504, sig= 0.00 p.0.01resulted the significance of positive relationship between a diversity emotional intelligence and self-independence, rx2y= 0.525, sig = 0.00 0.01 resulted the significance of positive relationship between a diversity quotient and self I independence. The effective contributions shows 33.2% for emotional intelligence and adversity quotient for independence and the remains shows 66.8% that influenced by the other factors.
