Abstract

One effective method for controlling dengue fever is by killing Aedes aegypti larvae using insecticides. The use of natural ingredients on kirinyuh leaves and pandan leaves contain toxic chemical compounds can kill Aedes aegypti larvae, other than that pandan leaves have a fragrant aroma. The purpose of this research is to know the effectivity of kirinyuh leaf extract with the addition of pandan wangi leaves as a vegetable insecticide to Aedes aegypti larvae mortality and to know the percentage of effective concentration for Aedes aegypti larvae mortality. This research is an experimental research with quantitative descriptive data analysis using Kruskal Wallis advanced test analysis. The study consisted of 6 treatments with two factors: first factor with insecticide type with different solvent (ethanol 70% and methanol 70%) and second factor with different concentration (5%, 10%, and 20%). The results of vegetable insecticide research on Aedes aegypti larvae mortality were all effective treatment in killing Aedes aegypti larvae of 100%. These results indicate that the leaves kirinyuh and pandanus fragrant leaves can be used as a vegetable insecticide that can kill Aedes aegypti larvae.
