Abstract

The research objective consists of four things: (1) describe the form of speech; (2) the realization of the scale of politeness Lakoff (3) strategy speech at the byword in Surakarta District Court; and (4) the implications as Indonesian teaching materials. The method used is descriptive qualitative aimed at understanding the phenomenon of language and presented in the form of words. The primary data in the form of words, phrases, sentences, or speech in the expression proverb. Secondary data from relevant journals and books on the politeness scale Lakoff. Meanwhile, the source of data used is the text of the slogan in Surakarta District Court. Data collection techniques is obtained by engineering documentation. Data analysis technique used is equivalent method intralingual and pragmalingustik. It can be concluded into three subjects, among others: (1) 33 speech declarative sentences, imperative sentences of speech 23, 6 speech emphatic sentence, 3 utterances of interrogative sentences, and one speech exclamative sentence; (2) 25 hesitancy scale, 22 formalities scale, and 19 equality scale; (3) 31 direct strategies and 35 indirect strategies; and (4) slogans in the Surakarta District Court can be used as a model for slogans in learning ad text, slogans, and posters. Based on the findings of these data we can conclude that the slogan phrase is dominated by the use of the indirect strategy to show politeness. The way it is done speakers while providing the option to mira speech so as not to burden. Speakers use narrative form declarative sentence to give commands to the hearer.
