Abstract

The load factor is an important simplification of the electrical energy usage data and depends on the ratio of the average demand to peak demand. In the household sector there are several classes including R1 (450VA), R1 (900VA), R1M (900VA), R1 (1300VA), R1 (2200VA), R2 (3500VA - 5500VA), R3 (> 6600VA). The need for electrical energy during peak loads can have a detrimental effect on all parties, so there is a need to emphasize the customer side in order to be effective. This study aims to determine the value of the average load and peak load which will then be used to calculate the load factor on each residential class in Karanganyar region. The method used in this study by collecting references and journals related to the load factor, after getting the reference followed by the retrieval of research data obtained in accordance with the procedures of the agency and analyze the data that have been obtained. The results of the analysis obtained the data of household customer factor load factor in 2017 with the highest load factor value found at the R1 (450VA) tarif rate in June at 32,862% and the lowest load factor was found in the R2 group tariff ( 3500 VA - 5500 VA) in December with a value of 1,788% while in the R1M (900 VA), R1 (1300 VA) and R1 (2200 VA) groups have the most stable load factor value for one year. From the data it can be concluded that the load factor is still small so that the consumption of electric energy has not been maximized. The greater the load factor obtained from the ratio of average power to peak load, the better because the power supplied by PLN can be used optimally.
