Abstract

The aims of this study is to examine the model of a) the correlation between responsibility and learning independency of junior high school students in Surakarta, b) the correlation between responsibility and learning independency mediated by emotional regulation of junior high school students in Surakarta, c) the correlation between social support and learning independency of junior high school students in Surakarta, d) the correlation between social support and learning independency is mediated by emotional regulation of junior high school students in Surakarta. The population of the study are students of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 and 5 Surakara, 298 students as the sample fromSMP Muhammadiyah 1 and 240 students from SMP Muhammdiyah 5. The sampling technique used this research is cluster random sampling. Data analysis in this research using Structural Equation Model (SEM). Based on the result of SEM analysis known that there is suitability of model with GFI value 0,99 ≥ 0,90, P 0,059 ≥ 0,05, Chi Square 145,421. The results of the analysis were: a) correlation between responsibility and learning independencyof junior high school students in Surakarta, b) correlation between responsibility and learning independency mediated by emotional regulation of junior high school students in Surakarta, c) correlation between social support and learning independency of junior high school students in Surakarta, d) the correlation between social support and learning independency is mediated by emotional regulation of junior high school students in Surakarta.
