Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe 1) implementation of thematic learning in class 2 in curriculum 2013 SDIT Nur Hidayah Surakarta, 2) obstacles in the implementation of thematic learning, and 3) effort done in overcoming obstacle of thematic learning implementation. The type of research used is qualitative. The method used to collect data through interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis techniques using interactive analysis. Data validity using triangulation. The results showed that 1) implementation of thematic learning in class 2 starts from a) planning stage, which is making RPP prepared by parallel team. b) the implementation phase, consisting of three activities, namely opening activities, core activities and closing activities. Opening activities, activities undertaken by teachers are ranging from preparing students both physically and psychically, perform apersepsi, and provide motivation to learners. The core activities begin with the teacher digging up learners' information, then going into contextual learning materials that are appropriate to the development of class 2 learners, creating a fun learning environment, character-planting; active learning methods; High HOTS (High Order Thinking Skills) for grade 2; and the way the teacher does to overcome learning difficulties of students. The closing activity is filled with giving reinforcement to students and assignments. c) evaluation stage. Evaluations for thematic learning are conducted for the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. 2) Obstacles experienced by teachers in the implementation of thematic learning is too much and the difficult material that can not be conveyed properly because less thematic learning time than the schedule of the service. 3) Efforts that teachers can do that is by compacting the material for each hour of thematic learning.
