Abstract

The completeness of a program in the education unit (in this case high school) will end with the evaluation of learning outcomes or examinations, namely the school exam and the national exam, the students will increase their learning activities as self preparation to be able to take the exam and strive to produce satisfactory achievement. This study aims to explain the students 'experience in practicing self-regulated learning (SRL), which includes students' readiness in an active, constructive process, able to set learning goals, monitor, manage, and control cognition, motivation, and behavior. This research uses qualitative approach with data collection method in the form of focused group discussion (FGD) and writings on seven main informant students, plus interview on seven supporting informants (friend of the subject). Informants in this study are the students of class XII who have undergone the school exams and national examinations. The results of this study explain that the behavioral, motivational and cognitive behavior of the SRL in the students' learning still requires an increase in the problem of timing, planning and targeting. SRL is a managerial skill in learning because it regulates the resources of learning so that it can be taught or trained as early as possible to optimize academic skills and academic adjustment of students in the future.
