Abstract

Hospital is also a service industry that can not be separated from the possibility of a fire that can cause harm to both material and casualties. Fire prevention in hospitals can be done by using fire protection tool one of them FIREX. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of FIREX installation, inspection, maintenance and replenishment standards in Karanganyar General Hospital based on Permenakertrans No. Per-04 /Men/1980, as well as to know the readiness and ability of individuals in extinguishing the fire using FIREX seen from the knowledge and training of fires that have been followed. The design of this research is qualitative with observational approach of survey approach. This research focuses on FIREX installed in Karanganyar District General Hospital which is 93 and 6 employees of Karanganyar General Hospital. Data collection is done through interviews and observation of light fire extinguishers. The results are then compared with the FIREX implementation standard in order to propose an inappropriate redesign of standard FIREX installation, inspection, maintenance and replenishment. The results of this study indicate that every individual has knowledge of fire prevention, but the application of FIREX standard installation, inspection, maintenance and refilling is still not fully compliant with the standards.
