Abstract

This study aimed to analyze and examine (1) the difference effect of learning strategy Discovery and Problem Based Learning the mathematics learning outcomes, (2) the difference effect of mathematics learning outcome viewed from of learning interest, and (3) the interaction strategy of learning Discovery Learning, Problem Based Learning and interest students mathematics learning outcomes. This type of research is quantitative research with quasi experiment. This study population is the entire class VII SMP Negeri 2 Gondangrejo 2017/2018. The sample in this study consisted of two classes with sampling techniques using random cluster sampling. Data collection techniques using methods of documentation, test and questionnaire. Data were analyzed using two-way analysis of variance technique with different cells. Research results with significance level of 5% is (1) there is a difference effect of learning strategy Discovery Learning and Problem Based Learning the results of student mathematics learning, DL strategy more effective than PBL strategy toward learning result (2) there is difference effect of mathematical interest on the results of mathematics learning, student with high learning interest in categorized better than moderate or low learning interest, and (3 ) there is no interaction between learning strategy of Discovery Learning, Problem Based Learning and interest in learning on student's mathematics learning outcomes
