Abstract

This study his 2 ofjectives (1) to describe the value of progresivism in Character Education of Kyai Haji (KH) Ahmad Dahlan, (2) to describe the Value of Social Piety Character of KH Ahmad Dahlan on the novel “Sang Pencerah”. This study uses descriptive qualitative method. The data in this study are citations on novel “Sang Pencerah” which contain value of Progresivism of K.H. Ahmad Dahlan's Teachings. The data were collection using documentation technique. Documentation techniques to collect data through several steps as follows: (1) Reading whole novel “Sang Pencerah”, (2) Observing every sentences on novel “Sang Pencerah”, (3) Marking sentences which contain value of progressivism in education character of social piety K.H. Ahmad Dahlan's teachings using sosiopragmatik study. Data analysis in this study using the method of analysis and method of similarity. The result of this study as follow; tawheed (belief the singularity of God) is the gate of Islam, understanding the Quran and Sunna depthly, proud with a functional and solutive charity, oriented with contemporary and future, be tolerant, moderate and cooperative, poverty alleviation through education and health services are concrete and authentic problems. The value of piety social doctrine of KH Ahmad Dahlan as man of action. He made history for his work along with his students solved the chronic problems of the people by establishing schools, hospitals, orphanages and hospitals. These social situations and religious practices need a strong effort. The value of KH Ahmad Dahlan's social teachings include compassion values, patient values, auxiliary values, generous values, human values, spirituality values of sensitivity, social responsibility. The high level of spirituality of honest behavior, nothing to lose services and humanism as a main attitude on social piety.
