Abstract

This study aims to describe: First, the implementation of the 2013 curriculum in the process of learning economy XI IPS 1 class in SMA Batik 2 Surakarta. Second, the obstacles faced in the implementation of the 2013 curriculum in the learning process of economy XI IPS 1 class in SMA Batik 2 Surakarta. This research includes the type of qualitative research with the type of ethnographic approach. The subjects of this study are the students of XI IPS 1class in SMA Batik 2 Surakarta, economic subjects and other students of XI IPS other class. Data collection method used in this research is through interview, observation, and documentation. Data analysis technique used in this research is descriptive analysis technique of interactive model. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the 2013 curriculum in the economic learning process in XI IPS 1 class is conducted using a scientific approach consisting of preliminary activities, core activities and closing activities. In order to realize student-centered learning (student center) students are given freedom in finding information from various sources (literacy). Strengthening character education (PPK) is carried out throughout the learning process, at the beginning of the teaching process the teacher inserting the Qur'an verses related to the material being studied, besides as the embodiment of the school mission of inculcating faith and devotion based on Al-Qur'an and Al-Hadith . Constraints faced by students are still familiar with the previous curriculum where teachers become the main source of learning, the difficulty in dealing with students who are less active in the classroom, the difficulty of managing time management.
