Abstract

This research paper is indented to analyze of the implementation of Contextual Teaching Learning in teaching English to the fifth year students of SDN 2 Peleman Gemolong Sragen in 2008/2009 academic year. In this research, the writer used the qualitative research for analyzing the data. To collect the data the writer uses observation, interview, and document. The data were analyzed by these steps : 1).Finding out the teaching process used by the teacher in teaching English using CTL method, 2).Comparing the result of interview with the situation in the class, 3) Making note about the activity in classroom, 4) Judging weather the procedures used by the teacher are appropriate or not with the seven components in CTL, 5) Making conclusion based on the results of analysis and giving some suggestions. The result of the analysis shows that, 1) The process of teaching and learning using CTL: Starting the Class, Presentation, Practice or Activate, Recycling, and Closing the class. 2). There are seven components used by the teacher in teaching learning process: Constructivism, Inquiry, Questioning, Learning community, modeling, reflections, and authentic assessments.
