Abstract

PHYSIOTHERAPY MANAGEMENT IN PATIENT LEPRAE OF LOSS WITH LESI NERVE ULNARIS IN RSUD KELET PROVINCE OF CENTRAL JAVA (Ria Puji Untari, 2018) Background: Leprae disease is also called moorbus hansen disease is a contagious and chronic disease caused by leprosy (Mycobacterium Leprae). Leprosy attacks the peripheral nervous system and if it concerns the ulnar nerve it will cause a disability called the claw hand. Claw hand is a muscle imbalance resulting from ulnar nerve paralysis and its characteristics are kiting fingers due to hyperextension in the Meta Carpo Phalangeal (MCP) joints and flexion in the Proximal Inter-Phalangeal (PIP) joints Objectives: to determine the effect of exercise therapy on muscle strength, increased ROM and improvement of nerve thickening. Results: After doing therapy as much as 3 times, the obtained results of evaluation on the strength from first therapy until the third therapy has not shown any changes. On the examination of ROM the evaluation results obtained have not increased. And on nerve examination, the results show that the ulnar nerve is still thickening. Conclusions: Giving the modality of exercise therapy to leprosy patients with ulnar nerve lesions has not shown change.
