Abstract
This study explain the representation of Dukun (Psychic) in Nippon Paint Elastex “Cat Anti Bocor dengan Perlindungan 5 Tahun” Commercials. The commercials is example from mass media. The commercials used by the companies to offer the products in the form of goods or services through the media. This research used qualitative methods with semiotics analysis of Roland Barthes. The analysis in this research is to describe the definition of denotation and conotation which is used in the commercials. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. This research used picture documentation and literature study to collect the data. The data used cut of scene from the commercial that describe the Dukun (Psychic). The validation data is triangulation analysis. The results of this study show that: First: The figure is elder and respected by others; Second: The figure has many clien from different backgrounds and social status; Third: Somone who is pro to prevents the rain or more often called by Dukun Siwer; Fourth: The modern figure and trendy; Fifth: The person who does Perdukunan Kontemporer Practice, adapting to current development; Sixth: The person whose success according indonesian society standards especially Java.
