Abstract

Transportation is a human need that almost every day can not be abandoned. In this day, everyone needs a means of transportation to move from one place to another. East Java has a Trans Java toll lane. One of the toll roads is the Solo-Ngawi toll road. Solo-Ngawi toll road along 90.25 km connecting Central Java with East Java. With so many volumes of vehicles crossing the highway it can lead to accident vulnerability due to user fatigue. According to Law No. 14 of 1992 there is a provision stipulating that every 4 hours of driving a car must rest for at least half an hour, to release fatigue. Therefore, it takes facilities and infrastructure that aims to support the needs of road users in order to rest for a moment that is Rest area. The rest area facility on this highway in Ngawi Regency is not only equipped with facilities such as restaurant and vehicle parking, but also equipped with lodging, workshop, mini market, and various other facilities. All this is provided so that visitors feel comfortable and refreshed and can meet their needs and continue the journey to the destination safely. From the description, it is necessary facilities and infrastructure in the form of building rest area in Ngawi District. Therefore, it is necessary to plan and design a rest area for users of Ngawi-Solo Toll Road with emphasis on green architecture design.
