Abstract

Small and medium (SMEs) industry is one of the sectors that helps economic growth acceleration, it is in line with the mission of Sukoharjo Regency which is to encourage the strengthening of economic independence based on agriculture and industry as well management of the region potential by considering environmental sustainability. One of the ways to optimize SMEs industry is to collect them in one area. This study aims to determine the spatial pattern of SMEs industry dominant sector of food industry (karak, rambak, bread, tofu and tempe) Sukoharjo Regency. The data used is secondary data, such as the number of business unit, the number of labor, business income and population. This study uses SIG identification analysis tool and labor concentration (CI). The analysis that has been done is the identification of UMKM industry of Sukoharjo Regency on ISIC 10 based on the number of business, the dominant industry is Karak in Mojolaban Subdistrict, as well tofu and tempe in Nguter Subdistrict. The number of labor and business income is concentrated in Mojolaban Subdistrict. The result of labor absorption index analysis (CI) of ISIC 10, explains that the highest concentration of labor is in Gadingan Village, Mojolaban Subdistrict. The dominant product in Sukoharjo Regency consists of karak, rambak, bread, tofu and tempe.
