Abstract

Electrical conditions in the Sragen now are not in good condition, frequent power outage suddenly erratic in time. This resulted in the disruption of the supply of electric energy in industry or households, village community in General is still using candles as lighting when the power goes out. However, the use of candles for lighting still has the risk i.e. may lead to fire, therefore we are able to minimize the occurrence of fire hazard. This research aims to design an emergency light with switching technology. In the process there are a few methods that are done, the first is collecting data, the two devised a scheme of arrangement using simulation software in order to later in the manufacturing process and testing tools do not meet obstacles.HPL lamp 10watt is used as the load power supply by PLN 220 which was revealed to be 12v and direct current. In addition to electric lights are also supplied by PLN battery when the power goes out with a switching voltage with a delay of 2 seconds. A battery with a voltage of 12 V with charger kit by keeping the system cut off to avoid battery is overcharged. the battery is a source voltage of the load transmitted to the backup lamps HPL of 10 Watts. Average charging current 0.20 A for 3 hours to reach the cut off voltage in 13V. On load testing with battery capacity 5000Mah can light up 8 hours with a load of 10Watt, and 3 hours with a load of 2 x 10Watt.
