ERROR ANALYSIS IN EXPLORING THE PRINCIPLES OF LINIER PROGRAM FORMS OF STORIES BASED ON POLYA THEORY IN SEMESTER STUDENT III PROGRAM STUDY OF EDUCATION MATHEMATICS FKIP MUHAMMADIYAH UNIVERSITY OF SURAKARTA YEAR 2017/2018. Thesis. Mathematics Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. April, 2018. The research was conducted with the aim of analyzing what mistakes made by students in solving linear program questions form the story based on Polya problem solving theory and what are the causes of the mistake. The type of this research is descriptive qualitative research. The research was conducted on semeter III G students who took the course of linier program in Mathematics Education Study Program of Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta in academic year 2017/2018 by taking 5 students as research subject based on the most error level. Technique of collecting test data and interview. validity of data using technique triangulation method. Data analysis techniques use data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion / verification. The results of this study indicate that students experience errors are: (1) aspects of understanding the problem of fact errors, mistakes in making mathematical models and errors interpretation language. The reason is that students have low ability to solve stories and less habitual attitude in facing the story. (2) aspects of preparing a problem-solving plan, namely concept errors and principle errors. The cause of the students wrong in understanding the meaning of the problem and wrong in making permisalan or defining variables that will be used. (3) aspects of implementing the problem-solving plan, namely the miscalculation of the count operation, the cause is wrong in using the rules of operation or calculation correctly and the student's inadequacy. (4) aspects of looking back, the students wrong in writing back answers from the top of the last step, the cause of the students are less thorough and meticulous in doing the question Key words: error, linear program, story problem, polya theory
