Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe the preparation of mathematics teachers in implementing project appraisal on NHT type cooperative learning mathematics learning at SMP Muhammadiyah Al-Kautsar, (2) to describe the implementation of project appraisal on cooperative learning based on NHT type learning, (3) to describe obstacles in applying the assessment of mathematics learning projects. Based on the approach of this research is descriptive qualitative research. The subjects of this study are class VIII ARF SMP Muhammadiyah Al-Kautsar Academic Year 2017/2018 with the number of 32 students. Technique of collecting data using 2 observation method, interview, test, and documentation. The validity of data is done by triangulation technique that is by comparing data of result of observation, interview, test, and documentation. Data analysis technique is done by data reduction, data display, and conclusion or verification. The results of this study indicate that (1) the preparation of teachers before starting the research that teachers make RPP appropriate material to be used, making assessment instruments in the form of pre-test, LKK, post-test used to test the ability of students, divide students into small groups at random, (2) implementation of peer-based NHT type cooperative learning projects implemented in four stages: numbering, asking questions / problems, thinking together, and answering. The value of pre-test, LKK, and post-test at the first meeting are (57,77), (70,07), and (65,76). At the second meeting (61.37), (80.24), and (73, 10). At the third meeting (66.33), (90.5) and (79). With the model in each meeting has increased. (3) obstacles encountered during the study were the lack of teacher creativity in the making of project appraisal instrument, less time allocation, less assertive teachers in organizing groups, less ready students in learning because there were some students who did not carry the term.
