Abstract

This study aims to describe the profile and legas protection for consumers of household food product againts the provisions of the labeling. Label is a description of food in the form of pictures, writings, or other forms affixed to the food packaging. The label contains the correct information, clear and honest is one of the cosnsumer rights. However, the problem of labels, especially the label of household food product, received less attention from consumers and business actors, the exitence of consumer protection efforts. Research method in research using method of doctrinal approach. The type of research used descriptive that describes the legal protection for consumers of household food product to the inclusion of labeling provisions, while the method of data analysis with qualitative normative methods. From the results of the above research, it can be concluded that labeling of household food product under study there are products that do not meet the label provisions of household food product as regulated in legislation and have not fulfilled the principles of consumer protection.
