Abstract

This research is based on the fact of the low motivation of students' learning on IPS subjects. Therefore, it is necessary to apply IPS learning techniques using the technique of pick up cards game. The purpose of this research is to determine whether the use of pick up cards game techniques can improve the motivation to learn IPS in students class V SDN 1 Sawahan, Juwiring, Klaten year 2017/2018 lessons. This type of research is a classroom action research with quantitative and qualitative data analysis techniques. The technique used in this research is of interview, observation, and documentation. Validity of data in this study using triangulation of source and triangulation technique. The result of this study indicate that the percentage of learning motivation IPS student class V SDN 1 Sawahan, Juwiring, Klaten on the pre cycle of 22,78%. After the action on the cycle I mean the percentage of student learning motivation IPS increased to 56,67%. After the improvement in cycle II the average percentage of student learning motivation IPS increased again to 83,34%. Thereby the use of techniques pick up cards game can improve motivation to learn IPS students class V SDN 1 Sawahan, Juwiring, Klaten.
