Abstract

Abstract Learning process is defined as an environment conditioning attempt carried out by lecturer in order to actualize teaching-learning process with the purpose of behavior changes. This research was executed with the purposes of understanding learning process in Fakultas Ilmu Kesehatan USAHID Surakarta and understanding students’ responses toward learning process. The informants of this research were 127 students in Fakultas Ilmu Kesehatan USAHID Surakarta with purposive sampling. This research used exploratory study. The instruments were questionnaire, interview, observation, documentations. The results attained were: The descriptions of learning process in Universitas Sahid Surakarta could be viewed from the input, process, and output. Students showed passion in university and the major. Students’ motivation was considered intrinsic. Adequate aspects in learning process included lecturer mastery of lesson materials, lecturing media, and evaluation method, while inadequate aspects included learning purposes, learning method, time management, and facilities. The output indicated that students possessed great GPA score and competencies. Learning design recommendation was Student Center Learning (SCL) training for lecturers. The conclusions of this research included the learning process in Universitas Sahid Surakarta was not considered optimum, therefore SCL training for lecturers is highly required.
