Abstract

This research aims to describe the form of compliance of the principles of language courtesy in the negotiation text of X grade student of SMA Islam Ta'allumul HudaBumiayu, and the form of adherence to the principle of language courtesy in the negotiation text of class X grade students of SMA Islam Ta'allumul HudaBumiayu. The type of research is descriptive qualitative. The data in this research are words or phrases containing compliance with the principle of politeness and violation of the principle of language politeness. The data sources in this study were taken from the negotiations text that made by students. Data collection techniques in this study using techniques refer to, and record. Content analysis techniques were use as the technique analyzing data in this study. The validity data in this study using triangulation theory. The result of this research shows that there are 83 data which contains the form of compliance with the principle of politeness of language consisting of six maxims of politeness, namely (1) maxim of wisdom 15 data, (2) maxim of philanthropy 16 data, (3) maxim award 13 data, (4) maxim of simplicity of data, (5) maximization of consolidation 12 data, (6) and maxim of inferences 12 data. The violation form of the principle of linguistic politeness found 13 data with four maxim types of politeness, there are (1) maxim of wisdom 5 data, (2) maxim of awards 4 data, (3) maxim of simplicity 5 data, (4) and maxim of conspiracy 1 data. Based on the research findings of the negotiation text of X grade of SMA Islam Ta'allumul Huda Bumiayu can be categorize to be polite in the use of language, because the number of compliance forms with language principles is more common than the number of violations of the principle of language politeness.
