Abstract

This study aims to describe (1) implementation, (2) obstacles, and (3) solution in the implementation of character education of hard work and responsibility in learning Civics students in Islamic Junior High School Karangrayung Grobogan Regency. This research type is descriptive qualitative research with ethnography approach . Data collection techniques are interview, observation, and documentation. The validity of the study used triangulation of data sources and triangulation techniques or data collection methods. Data analysis in this research is interactive. Researchers obtained three findings, namely (1) Implementation of character education of hard work and responsibility begins with planning by preparing RPP. Implementation through exemplary and motivation. Evaluation by looking at cognitive, affective, and psychomotor developments with an observation appraisal sheet. Implementation of the character of hard work is shown the attitude of doing the task on time, not despair, check the task, and able to manage the time. Implementation of the character of responsibility is demonstrated by performing obligations, being able to make decisions, and be trustworthy. (2) The hard work character constraints include lack of priority, perfectionism, lack of focus, and poor time management. The constraints of character responsibility include oneself, and peers. (3) The solution to the obstacles of hard work character, ie exemplary, understanding, sanction, motivation, conducive classroom atmosphere, reminded to re-examine the work, give time limitations, and help slow students. Solutions to the constraints on the implementation of the character of responsibility include the provision of consequences, direction, and punishment.
