Abstract

Background: Speed is one of the fitness components required in playing futsal. To get a good running speed capability need a proportional posture with the ideal height and weight to balance the movement and energy to be released. One way to find out the ideal posture is to use Body Mass Index (BMI), which is the Body Mass Index is a simple measure to monitor or measure the adult nutritional status associated with overweight and underweight. Physiotherapy has one form of exercise program that can help the player to maintain good posture, improve balance, and strength of the muscles of trunk, pelvic hip, and abdominal core stability exercises that can support the performance of futsal players. Objective: : The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of body mass index and core stability with running speed, and to know how big the contribution of body mass index and core stability with running speed. Methods: The type of research used is correlational research. The subjects in this study were all students who followed extracurricular futsal in SMA N 2 Sukoharjo and SMA Batik 1 Surakarta, which all amounted to 50 students were taken by purposvie sampling. By collecting data using tests and measurements for body mass index by formula, measurement of running speed with 30 meter sprint test, and measurement of core stability with core muscle strength and stability. Data analysis techniques use multiple correlation and regression analysis. Result: The data obtained from normality test is normal distribution with a value of p> 0,05. For the relationship tes, the relation between IMT with running speed of r value is 0,436, for relation between core stability with running speed of r value is 0,245, and for multiple correlation test results between IMT and core stability with running speed of r value is 0,458, which means they have a moderate relationship with speed and positive with contributin 21%. Conlusion: Based on these data we can concluded that the body mass index and core stability have been associated with the running speed in futsal player.
