Abstract

The research aimed to describe problems in the content of change and relationship in PISA student’s metacognition in solving Mathematics change and relationship ane. The type of this research is descriptive qualitative research. Subjects of the study are 3 students of SMP N 3 Boyolali in class 8C. They are categorized as high, medium, and low abitity students. Data collecting terchnique used are tests, videotapes, field notes, and interviews. Triangulation data is used to check the credibility of the data. Data analysis techniques of this research are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion / verification. The result of this study showed that: On Metacognition knowledge, students with high ability showed able to optimize all sub indicators available, whereas students with average ability are only showed optimize declarative knowledge indicators for procedural and conditional indicators unfulfilled, just as low-ability students can only showed declarative knowledge indicators. On Metacognition skills: high-ability students are able to fill all indicators except indicators of evaluation, whereas for students with average ability to fill a sub-indicator of planning indicators, two sub indicators of monitoring indicators and evaluation indicators, and for low-ability students for each indicator fill only one sub-indicator.
