Abstract

This study aims at evaluating: (1) the influence of learning strategy on learning mathematics outcomes. (2) theinfluence of students’ interest on learning mathematics outcomes. (3)the existence of interactions between teaching strategy and students’interest on learning mathematics outcomes. This study is a quantitative research with quasi-experimental research design. The population of this study is 248 students of 7th grade of SMP N 2 Colomadu, Two classes were chosen for the sample of this study by cluster random sampling. The first class was treated using Jigsaw strategy and the second class was treated using NHT strategy. The data collection was conducted using test, questionnaire, and documentation. Morever, the data was analized using different number of cell analysis of variance with 5% significance level. The conclusion are: (1) there isinfluence of learning strategi on learning mathematics outcomes, Jigsaw a give better learning outcomes of NHT. (2) there is influence of students’ interest toward learning mathematics outcomes. (3) there is no interaction between the teaching strategy and students’ interest on learning mathematics outcomes.
