Abstract

This study aims to describe the planning, implementation, and control of full day school in shaping students’ character in SD Muhammadiyah Program Khusus Boyolali. This research is qualitative with ethnography design. Data collection techniques use interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis techniques use interactive model analysis. The results of this study show: 1) Full day school planning in shaping the character of students begins with the preparation of an academic calendar so that the learning time received by the students can be received in full; environmental conditioning and school facilities into a medium in order to shape the character of students; develop syllabus and lesson plan by loading character values; as well as the integration of character development in the curriculum in each subject refers to the national curriculum enriched with the Religious Department curriculum and an independent curriculum that includes Islamic values, selfdevelopment programs, and school culture. 2) The implementation of full day school in shaping the character of students consists of the cooperation of all teachers and educational personnel responsible in shaping the character of students; building communication and cooperation with parents through liaison books and regular meetings; establish a harmonious relationship between teacher students by eliminating the teacher room so that teachers can supervise and control student activities; integrating the value of the characters into the subject according to the standard processes and assessments that exist in the school; implementation of self-development through extracurricular activities; and implementation of school culture programs through school routine and teacher role model. 3) Full day school control in shaping the character of students consists of assessment of educators and education through internal monitoring,external monitoring and observation; cooperation with parents by holding parent meetings and providing liaison books; and assessment of student success through daily, month and end of semester. The aspects of character of students who are assessed in self-development and habituation are: discipline and responsibility, cleanliness and neatness, cooperation, courtesy, independence, crafts, honesty leadership, and obedience.
