Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between adversity quotient with work stress of nurses RSUD Dr. Moewardi Surakarta. Hypothesis proposed that there is a negative relationship between adversity quotient with work stress of nurses RSUD Dr. Moewardi Surakarta. The sampling technique used in this study is proportional random sampling. Methods of data collection using quantitative approach with measuring scale of adversity quotient and work stress scale. While data analysis is done by nonparametric Spearman’s rho analysis using SPSS for 16 windows help program. Based on the results of data analysis obtained correlation coefficient of -0.145; significance (p) of 0.02 (p ≤ 0.05) which means there is a significant negative relationship between adversity quotient with work stress nurses RSUD Dr. Moewardi Surakarta. The effective contribution or the role of adversity quotient on job stress is 2.1%, the rest 97.9% is influenced by other factors. Adversity quotient variables have empirical mean (RE) equal to 59,02 so have high category, whereas work stress variable has empirik mean (RE) equal to 40,35 which have low category.
