Abstract

The purposes of this study are, (1) to examine the contribution of learning motivation and facilities on mathematics learning outcomes indirectly through learning independence, (2) to examine the contribution of learning motivation and facilities of learning independence, and (3) to examine the contribution of learning independence on learning outcomes in mathematics. This is a quantitative study. The study population is 259 eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Trucuk. The research sample is 159 students is determined by the formula of slovin. The sampling technique using proportional random sampling. The data collection technique are questionnaires and documentation. The data were analyzed using path analysis. The results of the study are, (1) the learning motivation and facilities with (α = 0.05) contribute simultaneously to the results of Learning Mathematics through Independence. Partially, learning motivation does contribute directly to the learning outcomes of mathematics and indirectly contribute positively through learning independence. The learning facilities do not contribute directly to the learning outcomes of mathematics and indirectly contribute positively through learning independence. (2) The learning motivation and facilities with (α = 0.05) contribute simultaneously to learning independence of 10,1%. Partially, the learning motivation that directly affect the learning independence of 19,2721%. The learning facilities which directly affect the learning independence of 5,6169%. (3) The learning independence with (α = 0.05) contributes to the learning outcomes of mathematics.
