Abstract

Children with cerebral palsy have complex problems. In which there are not only motoric problems but also the other problem like endurance. Exercise that easiest to be done by children with cerebral palsy to improve their endurance is cycling with static cycle. Early Activity Scale For Endurance is used to know the score of endurance. PURPOSE: To know the effect of static cycle on improving the endurance of children with cerebral palsy. SUBJECTS: Children who are 15-21years old in YPAC Surakarta. Have hemiplegic or diplegic cerebral palsy diagnose and 1st, 2nd, or 3th level of GMFCS. There are 8 children that involved in inclusive criteria. DESIGN: Pretest and posttest With Control Group Design. RESULTS: Tested the effect in Group I of early activity scale for endurance (EASE) p = 0.066 (p >0.05). Group II (p >0.05) EASE p = 0.063. Whereas the different effect test between group I and group II the value of p = 0.343 (p >0.05). According to the value, there is no significant differences between pre and post treatment neither in group 1 nor group 2. And there is no differences effect between them. CONCLUSION: There is no an influences and difference between the static cycle exercise to improve endurance of cerebral palsy between group I and group II.
