Abstract

This study aimed to describe metacognition in solving straight line problem viewed by type of behaviorspace DISC at Universitas Muhammdiyah Surakarta. Researcher took for one sample each from type of dominance, influence, steadiness and compliance. The sampling technique using DISC questionnaires and consideration of lecturers. Data collection techniques in this study using the test method, think aloud, field note and interview. Data validation was done by triangulation technique by comparing the results of the test, think aloud, field note and interview. Data analysis techniques by means of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. Based on the research results, the SD’s metacognition fulfills all the indicators except re-examination. SC’s does not fulfill one indicator, it is able to determine the known information and metacognition skills in SC only fulfills two indicators that understand the steps to be taken to solve the problem and the steps undertaken coherent settlement. SI and SS have the same metacognition, they only fulfill one indicator that identify the weaknesses in on him.
