Abstract

This research aims to understand the spatial pattern of small and medium industries (SMEs) in wood industrial sector, wood and cork goods (excluding furniture), wicker goods from bamboo, rattan and the like and furniture in Sukoharjo Regency. The data used are secondary data, such as the number of business unit, the number of labour, business profit and the number of population. The study uses GIS identification and labour concentration (CI) as analysis tools. Analysis that has been conducted was SMEs industry identification in Sukoharjo Regency in ISIC 16 based on the number of business, the result shows that the dominant industries are of handlebar and guitar body in Mancasan Village, District of Baki. The highest concentration of number of labour and business profit was in Luwang Village, District of Gatak. Analysis result of employment index (CI) ISIC 16 explained that the highest concentration of labour located in Mancasan Village, District of Baki. ISIC 31 identification based on spatial pattern, number of business, number of labor and business profit concentrated in Bulakan Village, District of Sukoharjo, with furniture as the dominant product. Analysis result of employment index (CI) ISIC 31, explained that the highest concentration of employment occured in Pandeyan Village, District of Grogol.
