Abstract

The pupose of this research is to know the management of the school curriculum at SDIT Ihsanul Fikri, which are; 1) to describe how the preparation of science subject curriculum containing character values. 2) to describe how the preparation of science subject teachers. 3) to describe how the implementation of science subject curriculum containing character values. 4) to describe how the evaluation of science subject curriculum containing character values. This research uses qualitative approach and ethnography studies. It analyzes the data which are related with curriculum management and science subject containing character value at SDIT Ihsanul Fikri Kota Magelang. The results of the research shows that (1) the preparation of science subject curriculum containing character values which are implemented at SDIT Ihsanul Fikri Kota Magelang uses Kurikulum Islam Terpadu (Islamic Integration Curriculum) internalizing Kurikulum Tingkat satuan pendidikan (Education Unit Level Curriculum) with Islamic values integrated in the Quality Standart of Jaringan Sekolah IslamTerpadu (Integrated Islamic School Network). The curriculum structure of this school is designed based on Standar Pelayanan Minimal (Minimum Service Standard) of National Curriculum. For grade 6 of elementary school, there are 2 lesson period added for science subject. Related to the planning, annual program of science subject contains total of week and effective hours in a year which are 19 weeks in the first semester and 17 week in the following semester. (2) Teachers preparation for all subjects including science subject, after the teacher candidates passes the school selection, they have to be teacher trainees for 2 months in the school before they finally given authority to teach the student. (3) Learning process of science subject at SDIT Ihsanul Fikri Kota Magelang refers to some components, such as learning purpose, material or contents, strategies or methods, learning media, and assessment procedures. (4) The assessment standard of learning process for science subject at SDIT Ihsanul Fikri Kota Magelang includes daily assessment, psychomotor assessment, and affective assessment. Psychomotor assessment and daily assessment are taken for the average, so the teachers are able to know which students passs and do not pass the minimum passing grade of the subject.
