Abstract

Noni is a medicinal plant which is popular in Indonesia. Noni fruitcontainsactivecompoundsthat are usefulfor the human body. One oftheactivecompoundcontents in noniisterpen. Terpenes are compounds that help the body in the process of organic synthesis and recovery of the body's cells. The functionofterpenes in noni istopreventmalignant cell division and induce apoptosis. The recoveryofterpenes in noni used soxhlet extraction and the isolation used a rotary vacuum evaporator. The soxhletextraction, theration of the weight of noni to the volume of solvent was varied by 40:150, 40:200, 40:250, 50:200, and 60:200 (W / V). The variationsextractiontimewere 2,3, and 4 (h). The results showed that when the weight of noni was fixed, increasing the solvent volume would increase the extract yield, and vice versa. The containofterpeneswas analyzed using gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GCMS), and found the highest level of terpenes was achieved at the ratio of 60g:200 mLand 4 hours extraction time, i.e. 12.32%.
