Abstract

This study aims at evaluating: (1) the difference of students mathematics learning outcomes viewed from two different learning strategies (Two Stay Two Stray and Think Pair Share), (2) the difference of students mathematics learning outcomes viewed from mathematics communication (3) the effect of interaction between learning strategies (Two Stay Two Stray and Think Pair Share) and mathematics communication on student mathematics learning outcomes This study is a quantitative research with quasi experimental research design. The population of this study is 79 students of 7th grade of SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Surakarta. Two Classes were chosen for the sample of this study by cluster random sampling. The first class was treated using Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) strategy and the second class was treated using Think Pair Share (TPS) strategy. The data collection was conducted using test, and questionnaire. Morever, the data was analized using different number of cell analysis of variance with 5% significance level. The conclusion are: (1) there is difference on students mathematics learning outcomes viewed from two different learning strategies, Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) a give better learning outcomes than Think Pair Share (TPS), (2) there is difference on students learning outcomes viewed from different mathematics communication, (3) there is no effect of interaction between learning strategies and mathematics communication on student mathematics learning outcomes.
