Abstract

This study entitled “analysis of factors-factors that affect the absorption of labor force in the large and medium manufacturing industry sector in java island period 2010-2015”. As for the purpose to analyze the influence of the number of industrial enterprises (IND), production value (OUTPUT), provincial minimum wage (UMP), and the rate of ekonomic growth (GROWTH) towards the absorption of the labor force of the large and medium manufacturing industry in the island of jawa 2010-2015. Dependent variable in the form of labor force, while the independent variables are company number (IND), production value (OUTPUT), provincial minimum wage (UMP), economic growth rate (GROWTH). This research uses secondary data with panel data analysis tecnique. The results showed that pooled ordinary least square (PLS) was the best and most appropriate panel data regression model. Based on the validity test of influence or t-test, the number of industrial companies and the rate of economic growth has a significant influence on the absorption of the labor force, while the production value and minimum wage of the province have no significant influence on the absorption of the labor force. Based of the F-test, the independent variables of the number of industrial enterprises, the production value, the provincial minimum wage, and rate of economic growth simultaneously or together affect the absorption of the labor force. The result of the regression output shows the amount of R-square value of 0.978064 or 97.80% then the workforce variation (AK) can be explained by the variables of industrial enterprises (IND), production value (OUTPUT), provincial minimum wage (UMP), and economic growth rate (GROWTH). While the remaining 2.20% of the laborforce variation is explained by other independent variables not included in this model. Keywords : labor force (AK), number of industrial enterprises (IND), production value, provincial minimum wage, economic growth rate, panel data regression.
