Abstract

This study aims to investigate intercultural conflict in Around The World In 80 Days novel. The study points out cultures caused intercultural conflictand shows why cultures are causing intercultural conflict and describe the solution are offered to dealing with intercultural conflict. The type of study is qualitative research. In analyzing the novel, the researcher uses a Sociological approach. The primary data source taken from Around The World In 80 Days novel by Jules Verne. The secondary data sources are other sources such as journals or articles related to the primary data. The result of the study shows the following conclusions. First, there are three cultures causing intercultural conflict such as ritual, norm, and values. Second the reason of why those cultures causes intercultural conflict is because of different culture and opium, language, and different values. The last is the solution that offered in novel are saving the women, adjudication, and attacking the Sioux.
