Abstract

Wood is one of the structural materials that has long been known to the public. Compared with other structural materials, the wood material has a very light density and the process can be done with simple and lightweight equipment. The purpose of this research is to compare the result of the strength value / quality of test wood in the laboratory with SNI 7973-2013. This research uses experimental method to get data of research result that needed for the purpose of discussion of existing problem. Types of tests performed include water content testing, compressive strength, tensile strength, shear strength, and flexural strength. Each test object amounted to 3 pieces for 1 wood variation. wood used there are 5 types, namely Jati, Mahoni, Johar, Akasia and Meranti originating from the city of Surakarta and surrounding areas. The result of this research is elasticity value of each wood tested: Jati wood = 10353,23 MPa; Mahoni wood = 11255.30 MPa; wood Johar = 13213.94 MPa; Akasia wood = 11854.28 MPa; Meranti wood = 13245.03 MPa. Jati wood water content = 3.62%; Mahoni wood = 11.12%; Johar wood = 22.13%; Akasia wood = 9.37%; Meranti wood = 21.13%. Value of compressive strength Jati wood = 5,56 MPa; Mahoni wood = 9.05 MPa; wood Johar = 8.15 MPa; Akasia wood = 9.61 MPa; Meranti wood = 5.74 MPa. Tensile strength value of Jati wood = 168,57 MPa; Mahoni wood = 151,17 MPa; wood Johar = 160,75 MPa; Akasia wood = 120,54 MPa; Meranti wood = 151.90 MPa. Value of Jati wood shear strength = 9.79 MPa; Mahoni wood = 14.86 MPa; wood Johar = 13.27 MPa; Akasia wood = 99.22 MPa; Meranti wood = 9.18 MPa. The strong value of Jati wood bending = 72,70 MPa; Mahoni wood = 55.95 MPa; wood of Johar = 74,41 MPa; Akasia wood = 77.82 MPa; Meranti wood = 51,40 MPa. Value of comparation percentage of compressive strength test results in laboratory with SNI 7973- 2013 Jati wood = 61.41%; Mahoni wood = 132,52%; Johar wood = 84.05%; Akasia wood = 113.13%; Meranti wood = 75.20%. Value of comparation percentage of tensile strength test results in laboratory with SNI 7973-2013 Jati wood = 1860,63%; Mahoni wood = 2213.56%; wood of Johar = 1658,44%; Akasia wood = 1419.65%; Meranti wood = 1989,03%. Value of comparation percentage of shear strength test results in laboratory with SNI 7973-2013 Jati wood = 813,41%; Mahoni wood = 1618.51%; wood of Johar = 1028,07%; Akasia wood = 816.03%; Meranti wood = 902.44%. Value of comparation percentage of bending strength test results in laboratory with SNI 7973-2013 Jati wood = 710,32%; Mahoni wood = 716,76%; wood of Johar = 679,46%; Akasia wood = 807.10%; Meranti wood = 590.59%.
