Abstract

This research studies the linguistics form, the implicature and the reason of anger expression in The Mummy movie. The objects of this research are the utterances in The Mummy movie manuscript. The data is in the form of direct utterances of the actors of The Mummy movie. In gathering the data the writer uses the observation and the documentation methods. The prime objectives of this research are: 1) What are the linguistic forms of anger expression used in the Mummy movie manuscript? 2) What are the implicature of anger expression used in the Mummy movie manuscript? And 3) what are the reasons of expressing anger in the Mummy movie manuscript. The type of research the writer conducts is the descriptive qualitative which is used for seeking, collecting, classifying, analyzing data, and then drawing conclusion. The writer takes some steps as the techniques in collecting the data, as follows: watching and observing Mummy movie, reading it, selecting and collecting the utterances which express anger. Classifying the anger utterances into some groups based on the linguistic forms. The results of this research, are as follows: 1) The most common linguistic form are in the form of assertive form (51,2%) or 17 utterances. The second is followed by interrogative sentences (26,7%). Negative sentence and imperative sentence are equal in percentage (6,7%). Finally, the least linguistic form of is noun phrase (3,3%), 2) The implicature of the utterances can be longer or shorter in accordance to the message behind the utterances, 3) The Reason of anger expression of the data are to show power and disturbance, to show disappointment, to show super ordination, to show anger, to show shock and anger, to show disappointment, to show dislike, to show power and to revenge
